Central Coast Local Health District is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Social Worker Level 3 to join their Sexual Assault Service (SAS) team currently based at Watt Street, Gosford. This permanent, full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide vital support to individuals and families impacted by sexual assault. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be at the forefront of providing integrated psychosocial, medical, and forensic responses to both adults and children, ensuring trauma-informed care and a holistic approach to recovery. You will play a key role in advancing the service, contributing to clinical practice, and leading initiatives that support the ongoing development of the team and the services provided. In this position, you will provide specialist counselling, casework, and therapeutic interventions to children, adults, and their non-offending family members. Working within a trauma-informed context, you will offer both crisis and long-term support, assisting individuals in their recovery from the impacts of sexual assault. Your role will include court support, developing integrated care plans, and working collaboratively with colleagues across Violence, Abuse, and Neglect (VAN) services to deliver seamless care. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead clinical initiatives, contribute to quality improvement activities, and provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students. You will be responsible for ensuring that all interventions are culturally safe, ethical, and evidence-based, aligned with the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework. About You You will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number). An understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards. You have demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and trauma counselling, specifically with individuals affected by sexual assault. You have advanced knowledge of the impact of trauma on children, young people, and adults which will guide your work in assessment, therapy, and case management. You have a high level of competency in both written and verbal communication, including the use of mediation, conflict management, and negotiation.
