Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source. Job Summary: Bechtel is looking for a CSU Process Engineer with experience in the field of Commissioning and Start-up in LNG/LPG projects. This role will report to the CSU Process Engineer System Lead and is responsible for planning and conducting the work. Major Responsibilities: Resolving Process System’s issues, including locating and diagnosing trouble in mechanical equipment, components, and systems, developing technical solutions, and preparing change documentation. Providing technical guidance including interpreting new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data; interpreting designs, drawings, and O & M manuals. Developing dynamic simulation models for process and control studies if required and developing Operator Training Simulators. Performing process design, operability, plant troubleshooting, and control studies using process models. Delivering the OTS system to site and participating in site acceptance testing with the customer. Performing plant shutdown, warm startup, and other tests in the training simulator and ensuring validity of the results. Developing operating procedures for startup, production changes, and other plant scenarios using OTS and modifying and preparing any new requirements of the procedures. Using OTS system to train operators and instructors in various plant operational scenarios. Preparing the System/Unit for the readiness of the Unit Demonstration test and executing the UDT procedure with Client for successful demonstration of the Unit. Participating and assisting in the demonstration of the Performance Test. Reviewing engineering and vendor documents for startup requirements, notifying project personnel of problem areas, and providing help developing recommended solutions. Coordinating assigned startup activities between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors, as applicable. Developing documentation for system testing and turnover including scoping of drawings and Teamworks, participating in the development of the project startup manual, and preparing system pre-commissioning and commissioning testing procedures. Preparing system commissioning / Startup test procedures for assigned systems and completing testing per STCP’s, SWPP’s, Pre-com procedures, and other specific procedures. Preparing preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for maintaining equipment once it has been commissioned. Providing input to engineering on revisions required to system descriptions, vendor operating and maintenance manuals based on review of documents during development of test procedures. Preparing detailed startup plans for assigned project system commissioning activities, integrating all discipline activities into these plans. Participating in system turnover walkdowns/PSSRs, both Construction and Client turnovers; initiating, tracking, and resolving punchlist items for assigned areas of responsibility. Providing technical direction to craft professionals as required to perform assigned tasks. Performing other duties as directed in support of project activities. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In-depth experience related to startup and commissioning of industrial, process or utility facilities or other relevant experience such as construction, engineering, field engineering or operations in industrial, process and utility facilities. Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiently. Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to gas plants.
