This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland. Its landscape ranges from beautiful coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breathtaking rock formations. You will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment that provides road design support to the transport infrastructure area in the District. Some of your responsibilities will include: Under Supervision: Assist in the development and costing of transport infrastructure design models in the concept, development and delivery phases of transport infrastructure projects. Develop capability in the use of specialist Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) software applications such as 12d and AutoCAD. Develop an awareness of relevant planning and design principles, policies, standards, and guidelines to be applied when developing project models. Under supervision, undertake various planning and design activities for road projects to ensure successful completion within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations. Assist in the management of planning and design projects using project management principles by monitoring and reporting to the team leader/supervisor on the status of assigned project activities. Attend all required classes (including lectures, tutorials and practicals) and pass and successfully complete all examinations and assessments required to obtain your qualification, as described under 'mandatory requirements.' Mandatory Requirements Cadets Are Required To Be Studying Or Enrolled In Associate Degree of Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification, accredited under the Dublin Accord. Study of a more advanced qualification would also be considered. Desirable Requirements Valid Queensland ‘C' class drivers licence or equivalent This is a Cadetship position, which means Full-time Work and Part-time Study and the Department will support 100% financial assistance towards the tuition fees and study, course attendance and exam leave as per SARAS.
