About the Department Our client, the Department of Health and Aged Care is responsible for health research, funding, promotion, and regulation in Australia. About the Role The Communication and Partnership Officer will support national awareness activities for the new National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP), promoting participation among eligible Australians. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic communications within the Australian Public Service or government, with a strong understanding of government processes. Key Duties Develop communications content for campaigns, partnerships, resources, media releases, and digital platforms. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders through liaison, negotiation, and consultation. Engage with partners and stakeholders on program communications, including community and healthcare professional activities. Deliver program messages to stakeholders and participants. Coordinate media activities for National Cancer Screening Programs. Implement and assess communications and education initiatives, contributing to strategy development and performance evaluation. Conduct research and prepare high-quality documents. Essential Skills Strong oral and written communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences. Excellent interpersonal, liaison, and negotiation abilities with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborative, flexible approach to working with stakeholders, including government representatives. Ability to provide account management services with a customer-focused approach. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify core issues. Strategic thinker who aligns work with organisational objectives. Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise and manage complex tasks independently. High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and adherence to processes. Flexible and positive attitude toward change, fostering cooperation. Calm and composed under pressure. Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement and best practices.
