About the role This permanent full-time position works 35 hours per week, nominally 9.00am to 5.00pm from Council's Administration building in Nowra. Reporting to the Manager – Budgeting and Analysis, the role provides financial business partner support to Council’s enterprise Project Management Office. The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Duties Reporting directly to the Manager – Budgeting and Analysis, the focus of this position is to: Provide finance business partner support monitoring and reporting of capital projects Provide analysis and advice to support the budget development process Support project owners case development and cost modelling for capital projects Deliver monthly income recognition and salary capitalisation for capital projects Ensure compliance with accounting standards and presenting information for audit Identification of business improvement opportunities and ability to manage that change Skills & Experience To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess: Accounting Degree CPA or CA qualified or studying towards Demonstrated experience as a project accountant in a large diverse organisation Advanced problem-solving skills, and proactive approach to process improvement Strong budgeting, reporting and financial modelling skills Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process.
