About the opportunity There are currently two (2) permanent positions available for immediate filling. DPIRD’s Carbon Farming and Bioenergy Team is seeking hard working, motivated people to join our dynamic team. We work across government and with industry to promote carbon farming and bioenergy opportunities in Western Australia. These support regional business development and the agriculture industry benefit from a low carbon future. The team delivers the Carbon Farming and Land Restoration Program, a key initiative of the State Climate Policy, the Carbon for Farmers Vouchers Program, and education and outreach activities. This involves grant and contract management and working with farmers, Aboriginal Corporations and other landowners to develop carbon projects. As lead agency for bioenergy, the team also supports the emerging biofuels industry, working across the biomass-to-bioenergy value chain to attract investment. Advanced biofuels can play an important role in the energy transition, providing drop-in alternatives to diesel and jet fuel for a greener, more sustainable energy future and cleaner industries. Further Information about the positions is below: Level 7 Manager Low Carbon Futures (Permanent) As the Manager Low Carbon Futures, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of high-profile strategic carbon farming and bioenergy initiatives. We are looking for an authentic, highly motivated person to manage the Carbon Farming and Bioenergy team and facilitate the efficient delivery of new and existing programs that create regional business opportunities. This is an influential role requiring effective working relationships across the department, with other agencies and a wide range of industry stakeholders. You will bring experience managing complex programs and leading a team working on a diverse range of activities, including funding programs and stakeholder engagement, which enable regional businesses and agriculture to capitalize on new opportunities as part of a prosperous low carbon future. Level 6 Senior Business Development Officer (Permanent) As a Senior Business Development Officer, you will play an important role in the bioenergy team. You will have the ability to engage with a client group across the State and collect business intelligence through proactive and planned engagement. You will contribute to both carbon farming and bioenergy industry development and investment attraction initiatives to facilitate investment growth opportunities. You will help facilitate stakeholder engagement and work collaboratively and independently to deliver projects that make a difference. We are looking for a self-motivated person with a demonstrated ability to learn new, complex concepts quickly. The ability to analyze complex information to inform decisions will be an advantage.
