Casual Academic - Population Oral Health The University of Sydney Dental School is currently seeking expressions of interest from both internal and external Clinical Educators to join the team on a specialised project in Broken Hill. You will be supervising DMD4 students’ rural placements. Each student placement will be for an 8-week period. About the opportunity Will be required to stay with students in Broken Hill and provide clinical supervision for students' clinical activities. Rural placement in Broken Hill is planned to commence in first semester; first rotation will commence on 26 August until 18 October 2024 . CD4 rate of approx. $96 per hour plus on-cost for superannuation and insurance. Support with accommodation, travel, and rental car available. About you Significant experience working in a clinical setting and proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform pedagogical practice. Experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment, as evidenced by student coaching and skills development. Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives with a clinical focus. A network of relationships with key academic, clinical, and professional institutions, partners, and stakeholders. Experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities. Demonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage, and educate students in the provision of outstanding patient care. Have an interest in strengthening the rural health workforce. To be considered for this position, you will need to be able to commit to a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks. Reimbursement for travel, accommodation, and miscellaneous expenses will be provided. Candidates who are interested in more than a two-week period will be provided with reimbursement for travel to and from Broken Hill during the placement. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed-term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
