Apply now Job no: 493456Work type: CasualLocation: WollongongDepartments: News About the role: Reporting to the State News Director, the main responsibility of the News Assistant is to provide support to the Wollongong newsroom. Duties include but are not limited to providing assistance to the Weather Presenter in the preparation of the weather forecasts, data entry of all information, assistance with some script writing as requested, ensuring all Presenters have hard copies of their scripts prior to presenting, and the operation of the script view auto-cue system. About you: To be the successful candidate, you will: Recently graduated or in final year of a relevant Media and Communications degree. Demonstrated superior communication and relationship building skills - establish networks & maintain contacts, as well as tenacity and well-developed abilities to prioritise. The ability to work under pressure and achieve success in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
