Unique Position – Locum Orthoptist – Excellent Hourly Rate Come join our ophthalmic team at the Eastern Eye Centre, a busy ophthalmology practice located in the Pacific Square Centre, Maroubra Junction. We are seeking an articulate and personable Locum Orthoptist to join us as a casual locum, initially to cover holiday leave in January, February, and possibly March, April 2025. We offer a comprehensive eye care service with a focus on providing top-quality clinical service while maintaining a friendly and caring environment. As one of a team of four orthoptists, you will play a pivotal role in supporting seven ophthalmologists and meeting the clinical expectations of our patients. Our practice offers a wide range of sub-specialty services including Cataract Surgery, Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, Squint Surgery, Diabetic Eye Disease, Medical Retina, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and General Ophthalmology. Although the role is a casual locum position, the diversity and nature of our practice provide a real opportunity to expand your clinical skills as an orthoptist. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of ophthalmic services provided to adults and children. Duties include: Screening of vision IOP measurements Visual fields OCT Angiography Immersion/contact A-Scans IOL Master Refractions Assisting with intravitreal injections and minor surgery Post-operative care You will need to be well presented, highly motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of our team. You will be rewarded with an excellent hourly casual rate, based on your experience. Applicants must have completed a B. App. Sc (orthoptics) or a Master of Orthoptics.
