Category Management Specialist - Leederville, WA - 3 month contract Rate: Up to $83.30 per hour (depending on experience)Location: Leederville, WAContract Duration: 28 February 2025 – 30 May 2025Hours: 22.8 hours per week (three days, including Tuesdays and Thursdays)Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements - casual loading included in rate)Reason for Vacancy: Job shareAbout the Role We are seeking an experienced Specialist in Category Management to join our team on a temporary contract. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and contract negotiation within a large, multi-disciplinary organisation.Key Responsibilities Conduct research, develop commercial prototypes, and analyse pricing and demand levers to create sourcing strategies. Develop sourcing strategies in consultation with Contract Owners and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. Maintain a strong understanding of business process value chains and operational methodologies within assigned categories. Provide coaching and mentoring in category management processes. Develop and lead commercial negotiation strategies, working closely with legal teams on contract negotiations. Act as the corporation’s representative for contract notices, variations, amendments, and disputes, ensuring compliance with contract terms. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management. Substantial experience in sourcing, market research, commercial strategy development, and high-value negotiations. Proven expertise in post-award contract and supplier performance management for complex commercial arrangements. Experience preparing Sourcing Strategies, Procurement Plans, and Board Papers. Considerable experience in a large, multi-disciplinary organisation within industries such as engineering, mining, infrastructure asset management, or utilities. A degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline. WA Public Sector Procurement knowledge or experience (desirable). CIPS qualification (advantageous but not essential).
