What You'll Do: Maximize Partnerships: Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers (local and overseas) to get the best deals for Total Tools. Your negotiation skills will be key to securing favourable terms and driving profitability. Lead Product Strategy: You’ll take the lead in developing category business strategies, analysing competitor trends, and discovering new product opportunities. Your aim? To keep us ahead of the curve and at the forefront of the market. Drive Results: From range reviews to pricing strategies, you’ll ensure that the products we offer are optimized for sales and margins. Your insights will shape the business and contribute to Total Tools’ growth. Develop a Winning Team: Lead and mentor Assistant Category Managers, creating a positive and motivated team culture that fosters collaboration and excellence. Your Superpowers: Retail & Category Management Experience: You’ve worked in retail and have solid experience in category or product management. You know the ins and outs of the retail world and have a proven track record of achieving targets. Negotiation & Strategic Thinking: Strong negotiation skills paired with the ability to think strategically and tactically. You're a master at driving value and ensuring our product range stays top-tier. Global Sourcing Knowledge: You’ve worked extensively in sourcing, especially with overseas suppliers, and have built strong networks that enable you to find the best products from around the world. Technical Know-How: You’ve got a sound understanding of the professional tool, hardware, or allied markets, maybe even consumer electronics, along with strong financial, marketing, and merchandising abilities. Leadership & Communication: You know how to lead and inspire a team, and you excel at building relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the organization. Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable with tools like Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and industry-specific systems (Pronto & COGNOS). You know how to use data to drive decisions and improve results.
