Chapter Lead Regulatory Change and Advocacy See yourself in our team Group Compliance is responsible for developing and implementing the Group’s Compliance Risk framework and methodologies. The Compliance Centre of Excellence is responsible for developing compliance frameworks, policies and tools to drive better compliance management for the Group. The Regulatory Change and Advocacy Chapter is responsible for delivering a sustainable solution for regulatory change and obligation management across the Group. The Chapter is dedicated to supporting regulatory advocacy and change – influencing outcomes and the policy agenda, while effectively implementing compliance requirements through strong collaboration, consultation, and user-focused design principles. What a day in your role will look like? The Chapter Lead Regulatory Change and Advocacy will lead the team in driving consistent and sustainable implementation of the group’s approach to Regulatory Change and Advocacy. The purpose of the role is to lead and support the team through: Evolve our regulatory change and advocacy functions to drive proactive compliance and strategic influence Monitor the pipeline of regulatory change and lead the operational function overseeing and challenging effective BU/SU implementation of Regulatory Change Providing guidance and advice to BU/SU compliance teams on regulatory change implementation and framework requirements Monitoring regulatory change implementation and providing reporting to senior management about the status of key regulatory change activities Continually innovating and improving the Group’s tools for Regulatory Change implementation and reporting Building networks across the three lines of accountability to drive regulatory change and advocacy outcomes Implementing and embedding framework changes across the Group by gaining appropriate buy-in and sign-off and building excellent stakeholder relationships Undertaking analysis on the Compliance Management Framework and developing insights to support the L2 BU/SU reporting process. What will you need to succeed in this role? This role requires someone with strong attention to detail and leadership of a cross-functional team working in an agile environment. Key competencies required: Knowledge of key financial services regulations (APRA, ASIC, Financial Crime, Privacy) Proven experience in driving the delivery of Regulatory Change Ability to quickly build relationships and influence effectively at multiple levels within a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment Commitment and passion for customers and people – a desire to lead as an owner, take ownership of opportunities and problems and drive delivery Excellent written communication skills – experience in drafting and revising complex policies highly regarded – plain English writing and simple clear communications are critical Active and effective people leadership and development, including coaching on persuading, influencing and constructive challenge Experience in implementing innovative approaches to process improvement, and technology focused compliance management Strong stakeholder management, particularly across a group function in a complex, large business.
