Casual Chef – Aged Care | Wagga Wagga Job Description Be Found Care is seeking a Casual Chef to bring nutritious, high-quality meals to elderly residents in Wagga Wagga. This role is perfect for a skilled chef who takes pride in preparing delicious and dietary-appropriate meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. If you have a passion for cooking and want a flexible and rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines. Ensure safe food handling and kitchen hygiene standards are met. Oversee food storage, stock control, and kitchen organization. Cater to special dietary needs and meal modifications for residents. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service. Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. Adhere to aged care food safety regulations and guidelines. Requirements: Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification). Food Safety & Handling Certificate (mandatory). Previous experience as a Chef in aged care, healthcare, or hospitality (preferred). Strong understanding of dietary requirements and food allergies in aged care. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen. Excellent time management and ability to deliver meals efficiently. Valid Police Check (or willingness to obtain). Bonus Skills (Highly Regarded): Experience in ordering and stock-take and HACCP documentation requirements for aged care or healthcare settings. Knowledge of texture-modified diets and nutrition for elderly residents. Leadership skills to supervise kitchen staff when needed.
