Your work will have a lasting impact on employees across Queensland, shaping standards, influencing policy, and leading innovation in psychological health.As the Chief Advisor Psychological Health, you will spearhead the development and delivery of strategies that regulate psychological health in workplaces, ensuring organisations across Queensland are equipped to manage psychosocial risks and foster thriving environments.Operating within the Specialised Health Safety Services (SHSS) directorate, you will lead a high-performing team of specialists, creating impactful programs that influence workplaces statewide. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ever-evolving field of psychological health and safety at work.Your Key Responsibilities Lead a team of psychological health experts, prioritising critical risks and controls related to mental health at work. Develop and implement state and national programs to support psychologically safe workplaces. Provide expert, high-level advice to inform policy, strategy, and emerging psychological health challenges. Collaborate with stakeholders, including industry leaders, mental health organisations, and academics, to drive compliance and innovation. Prepare comprehensive technical reports, briefs, and recommendations to influence legislation, policy, and standards. Support regional teams with tools, expertise, and programs for effective regulation of psychosocial hazards. Model integrity and professionalism in all interactions, fostering respect and confidentiality. What We're Looking For We are seeking a visionary leader who demonstrates: Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to innovate and deliver large-scale initiatives related to psychological health. Expert Knowledge: In-depth understanding of psychological health legislation, research, and industry best practices. Mandatory Qualifications A four-year degree in a health-related field (e.g., Psychology, Occupational Therapy) from an accredited tertiary institution. A Masters or Doctoral degree in Organisational Psychology or a related specialty (highly regarded). Qualifications/training in Work Health and Safety and/or regulation (highly regarded).
