What You'll Be Doing GOT IT - Getting On Track in Time is a school based mental health early intervention service for children in kindergarten to year 2 who display disruptive behaviours and emerging conduct disorders. The program works with children, parents, carers and School staff and aims to prevent mental illness and behavioural disorders in later life and improve educational outcomes. The Got It clinician provides targeted and universal intervention to children, parents, carers and school staff involved in Got it! This will include the development of behavioural/social skills groups for children and the delivery of parenting programs to their parents/carers. Selection Criteria Tertiary Qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist OR Tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership for relevant professional association. Demonstrated experience in the provision of contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice including conducting mental health assessments, and the provision of evidence based interventions for children, and their families/carers, who are experiencing mental illness. Experience and skill in developing, implementing and evaluations programs including clinical groups. Demonstrated ability and experience in family systems based interventions. Demonstrated skill and commitment in working collaboratively and systematically with many key stakeholders. Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007), and relevant legislations that pertain to working with children. Demonstrated high level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers and other stakeholders, and a demonstrated high level proficiency in computer literacy. Current drivers licence and willingness and ability to drive long distances as the position requires. Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
