Job Description
Job Opportunities The Town of Grafton is seeking an individual to fill the position of Children’s Librarian at the Grafton Public Library. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of services in support of Children’s Services operations, under the general supervision of the Head of Children’s Services. Duties include: Assisting with department programming and marketing through calendars, newsletters, and social media. Responding to correspondence via phone, email, fax, and/or directing inquiries to the appropriate department. Assisting in collection maintenance including recommending items for purchase and replacement. Enforcing Library Policies established by the Board of Library Trustees. Providing assistance and instruction to patrons of the Children’s Room. Qualifications for this position include: A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related field. One to three years of related experience, or some equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of library services, practices, and information resources. Familiarity with online and proprietary databases and shared circulation software preferred. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy. Proficient written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. This is a 35-hour per week position, with a salary range of $46,810.00 - $51,669.00 DOQ.
