Job Description
The Cinema Manager will play a central role in ensuring that every customer has a fantastic experience visiting Filmhouse. Filmhouse (Edinburgh) Ltd. (FEL) is a new charitable company established to relaunch and operate Filmhouse, Scotland’s leading cultural cinema. Our vision is for Filmhouse to be a world-class cinema for Scotland’s capital, contributing to the common good by connecting people with the full diversity of cinematic forms. After significant progress in fundraising and planning, we are now at the start of a major renovation of the premises at 88 Lothian Road, and plan to re-open the cinema in late spring 2025. The Cinema Manager will manage the Front of House team across box office, usher and stage management functions. The CM is responsible for all aspects of the ticket sale process and customer care, overseeing both box office systems and a team of people capable of delivering a superb audience journey. This journey – not simply watching a film, but the entire experience of engaging with the venue – is critical to the success of Filmhouse, and the Cinema Manager is a key champion for shaping and improving this journey, from the moment a customer books a ticket to the moment they go home. The role is full time at 37.5 hours per week, including daytime, evening and weekend work as required for the proper performance of the role. The role will be based on-site at Filmhouse on Lothian Road. We hope that the role will begin by the end of March 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary: £32K p.a.
