The Opportunity Following the redevelopment of the Civic Precinct and Community Hub, our Customer Engagement Department has an exciting opportunity for a Civic Facilities Officer to join the team. Reporting to the Team Leader, Civic Facilities, this role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, including the booking and facility management of community meeting rooms, hosting of Civic functions, and delivery of Council dinners. Key Responsibilities Investigate, address, and respond to service requests for Civic Facilities received through email and the Council's Customer Request System. Undertake administrative tasks such as processing correspondence and bookings with internal and external stakeholders, managing bond payments, and processing facility hire payments. Provide room set-up, clean up and re-set for community spaces. Ensure courteous, respectful, and engaging customer service for venue hirers, patrons, and other stakeholders. Support the display of relevant flags at the Civic Precinct in accordance with the Flag Raising Protocols Monitor and report maintenance or faulty equipment to the Team Leader Civic Facilities in a timely manner. About You To be considered for this role, you will have the following: Tertiary qualification in hospitality or event management and/or extensive experience working in civic facilities or the hospitality industry. Demonstrated experience in managing community spaces. Extensive experience and proficiency in adhering to OH&S and risk management practices related to events, hospitality, and venue management. Solid understanding of Food Safety Regulations, especially regarding food handling and storage. Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate. Valid Working with Children Check No relevant criminal record found in a police check.
