Job Description
Nexien is seeking a structural or civil engineer to work in Newport News, VA for a shipbuilding client. This is a full-time contract position that can be renewed. US Citizenship is required. Key Responsibilities: Perform structural evaluations and conduct building assessments in a large industrial facility setting. Implement project management methodologies for assigned facilities projects. Create and update project schedules to portray timelines for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction. Communicate and coordinate with customers, contractors, and upper management throughout the project process. Inspect and verify construction and installation progress adheres to established engineering drawings, specifications, and codes. Perform project closeout to ensure retention of project documents for future use and the sustainability and maintenance of the facility. Additional Responsibilities: Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design. Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling. Specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, and various software applications. Qualifications: BS in Engineering (ABET accredited required) and 2 years of experience or BS in Engineering (ABET) and Masters in Engineering with 0 years experience Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Contract Job Function Defense and Space Manufacturing and Shipbuilding #J-18808-Ljbffr
