This position is located in: Head Office Employment Type: Full-time X6 The Leisure Travel Claims Assessor contributes to the customer experience and servicing of the customers within the Travel Claims Team. The team peers include Claims Assessors, Emergency Assistance providers, Administration, Investigations, and Recoveries members. As a Claims Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing client claims and ensuring their seamless resolution in adherence with the General Insurance Code of Practice obligations (GICOP). Based in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and reporting to the Claims Team Lead, your role will include: Assessing claims up to a set value. Ability to complete denial and other letters by applying the wording from the Product Disclosure Statement. Maintaining a claims queue of up to 200 claims and ensuring that the customer is contacted within 10 business days as per GICOP standards. Answering claim-related enquiries/questions and resolving issues as a “single-point-of-contact” based on phone calls. Assisting members/customers to lodge claims and guiding them throughout the claims process. Resolving issues without or with limited management intervention. Providing claim status information, benefit coverage interpretations, and explaining policy inclusions & exclusions. Understanding the customer, including circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Maintaining a professional image as per company image quality standards. As our preferred candidate, you will have: Diploma or Bachelor Degree in a related field (desirable). 3+ or more years of related work experience. Experience within General Insurance Claims. Knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice. High level attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise & multi-task. Proactive attitude and willingness to learn. Great team player. Ability to meet service levels and individual KPI’s. Decision-making skills and ability to problem-solve. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. What’s in it for you?
