About the Opportunity TAL recognises the increasingly challenging market in obtaining and placing experienced Claims Consultants to coincide with the needs of the business. We are embarking on an exciting new initiative to build a Foundation Program to develop our Claims Consultants of the future. Our Foundation teams will be seeded with new Claims Consultants every six months. Within our Retail channel, we support customers who have obtained their life insurance with the support of their adviser. Accordingly, we may interact with both Customers directly and/or their adviser as part of their claims journey with us. What Will You Be Responsible For? You will form part of the Foundation team and in your first 6 months participating in the program, you will receive dedicated training and support to achieve your first claims delegation within that time period. In your new role, you will: Independently manage a portfolio of life insurance claims end-to-end. Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims payments. Engage actively with external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants as well as in-house medical and legal specialists to deliver timely outcomes for our customers. Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with our philosophy, policy and claims procedures. Participate in case conferences, peer case discussions, and instruct third-party service providers. What Are We Looking For? We’re looking for talented individuals with the relevant transferable skills and knowledge who want to join in our mission of ‘being by your side for life’ to positively impact Australians. The various backgrounds we are open to, though not limited, are noted here: Nursing and allied health, such as physiotherapy, chiropractic, remedial massage or sports injury; Counselling or psychology; Accounting, legal, finance and tax professionals; Background in Income Protection claims, TPD claims, Group Life claims assessing/management. Your key skills may include: The ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times. Experience helping the customer return to work or their best life. A strong customer and key stakeholder focus with sound communication & decision-making skills. An innate curiosity and passion to continue to learn. A high attention to detail. Experience with supporting people through crisis management, rehab or recovery. Experience in legal, tax, finance or accounting to deal effectively with financial planners and self-employed individuals. You’re always accountable for your actions. You never give up.
