Client Director, Mergers & Acquisitions Aon Mergers & Acquisitions and Transaction Solutions practice specialises in the provision of Insurance and Risk Advisory Services to the Merger and Acquisition community including Private Equity, Fund Managers, Investment Banks, Financiers, Law Firms, Large Private and top ASX listed businesses and Developers involved in major development projects. We are looking for a highly motivated leader who has been working in the legal, corporate or insurance industries with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (in particular with experience in/exposure to warranty & indemnity insurance). Working with a high-performing and growing team of M&A professionals, you will be responsible for relationships at a senior level with clients and advisers, including private equity and venture capital firms, corporations, law firms, investment banks and financial advisors. What the day will look like You’ll be accountable for providing the highest level of service and professionalism in this varied and hands-on role, which will find you consulting to clients and providing M&A insurance advice to clients and prospects, arrange and place optimal insurance programmes. You will also be involved in maintaining and developing relationships with key new business sources including PE, VC and corporate clients, as well as advisers to these clients. Other key responsibilities include: Working with a team of approx. 10 people comprising Client Directors, Client Executives and graduates, providing them with coaching, training, support and career development to maximise their impact. Providing advice to clients around the process and optimal structure of transferring their transactional liability risk through transaction liability insurance. Managing client and advisor relationships at the C-suite level. Driving and executing against Aon’s go to market strategy and sales methodology. Pro-actively establishing new relationships to develop opportunities as well as identifying and bringing on-line new projects within the current client portfolio. Building/maintaining a network of relationships within the insurance market, and liaising with underwriters and internal stakeholders to deliver optimised go-to-market strategies. Drafting, proof-reading and producing high quality reports. Achieve financial targets, new business sales and cross sell from within the Aon client base. Engage in product innovation, both in respect to refinement of existing products as well as creation of new M&A insurance products to bring to the market. Regularly engaging with Aon senior leadership in respect of strategy and execution. Skills and experience that will lead to success Ideally a law degree combined with a legal/commerce/insurance background with a substantial focus on M&A. Exceptional client management capabilities, which includes attracting, retaining and growing clients. A keen entrepreneurial spirit and flare for business development. Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities including in respect of providing detailed advice and drafting of documentation. Highly self-motivated with the ability to take ownership and accountability for development and execution of projects and relationships. Proven leadership skills to drive performance across the team’s technical, relationship management and business development skill-sets.
