The Role The Climate & Environment Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Senior Sustainability Manager, Climate & Environment, and the broader business, in achieving the organisation’s climate and environment objectives. The key purpose of the role is to support the implementation, monitoring and reporting of performance against climate and environment objectives and targets; including net zero by 2030, climate adaptation, circular economy, resource use and biodiversity. The role also supports internal stakeholder, tenant and supplier engagement on environment topics. Additionally, it will be responsible for preparing environment and climate related data for internal and external reporting requirements, including mandatory-climate reporting. Key Responsibilities Work with the Senior Sustainability Manager, Climate & Environment on the identification and enhancement of digital systems to better support the ESG data strategy. Assist with the development and implementation of environmental data governance processes to meet assurance and regulatory requirements. Prepare environment and climate related data for internal and external reporting requirements, including Board reports, GRESB, the Annual Report and AASB S2 reporting. Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the net zero, climate adaptation, circular economy, resource use and biodiversity strategies and targets. Assist with the development and delivery of internal and external stakeholder engagement and education relating to climate and environment topics. Lead engagement with key suppliers and tenants to support enhanced reporting and data collection on value-chain emissions. This will include supporting key tenants and suppliers in understanding and responding to increasing regulatory and supply chain requirements around climate and environment. About You You will be an enthusiastic and driven professional with excellent project and stakeholder management abilities, paired with strong commercial acumen. Building trusted relationships and effectively influencing internal and external stakeholders through exceptional communication and presentation skills will be essential to this role. Required Skills and Proficiencies Minimum 5 years’ experience in sustainability or environmental management in large, complex organisations or a consulting environment. A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field. Technical knowledge of climate. Knowledge of biodiversity/nature, circular economy topic areas would be advantageous. Strong understanding of climate and sustainability reporting standards/frameworks and property-based rating systems. Strong project management skills and a proven track record in managing multiple deadlines. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to create trusted relationships with team members across the business, and with external stakeholders. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to deadlines. Strong communication and report writing skills. The Rewards and Culture Flexible working arrangements.
