Job Description

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. MATSICHS Social Health is responsible for providing responsive and culturally appropriate therapeutic mental health interventions in accordance with the IUIH Social Health service delivery model of care. Working collaboratively with MATSICH services to achieve healthy, strong and vibrant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities. About the Role As a clinical leader, your role will support the ongoing development of clinical practice of mental health and wellbeing teams across the MATSICHS region. Responsible for supervision, clinical escalations and oversight of the quality and safety of care being provided. Day to Day Duties Include: Lead the provision and review of effective quality recovery oriented mental health care practice. Work collaboratively as clinical leader across multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the delivery of an efficient, responsive and integrated mental health service to clients. Provide Clinical leadership to Mental Health and Wellbeing services across MATSICHS. Provide direct support into the development of clinical knowledge practices, procedures and protocols within the team through provision of clinical supervision to Mental Health and Wellbeing staff across MATSICHS. Support staff through client issues and incidents, liaising with clients directly where issues are escalated. Provide direct support around complex practice matters and client incidents, ensuring support and guidance is in place. Undertake workforce development oversight activities in accordance with best practice standards and frameworks including: MMEX auditing, clinical induction and training for new staff, development of discipline specific projects, review and planning of professional development activities for staff. Collaborate in the ongoing development and integration of the Mental Health and Wellbeing service delivery model within the IUIH Model of Care. Contribute to the development and review of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols that enhance the delivery and integration of service delivery model across the IUIH network. About You Minimum five years’ relevant experience Demonstrated understanding of other community services and their role in providing substance misuse and mental health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Relevant bachelor's degree qualification with appropriate AHPRA, AASW or other registration/membership Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) Current Criminal History Check Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities What Can We Offer?
