Permanent Part Time – 64 hours per fortnight An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Unit at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Clinical Educator in Aged Care (Andrews House). This is a Permanent part-time position at 0.8 EFT. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides support to the organisation over a wide range of education and development services, including but not limited to, in-service education, development and delivery of training programs, competency assessments, supervision of student placements and staff development education. We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, experienced and enthusiastic people with a passion for learning and development to work collaboratively in providing high-quality learning opportunities, using a range of modalities that support and enable participants to practice as safe, confident and accountable professionals. This stimulating role would suit an experienced nurse who has clinical expertise in Aged Care Nursing and a sound understanding of the principles of Quality Improvement and ACQS (Aged Care Quality Standards). They need to be flexible, solutions-focused, committed to quality, willing to accept a challenge and enjoy working within a team that is dedicated to providing great service to their client group. Our preferred candidate will have: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia. Minimum of 5 years of extensive post-registration clinical experience in the area of Aged Care with a demonstrated knowledge of competency/skills requirements for staff to achieve quality clinical care. Relevant postgraduate clinical or educational qualifications and/or current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to work toward the certification. Demonstrated experience as a preceptor/mentor/coach with the proven ability to use contemporary education and teaching methods to develop and motivate staff toward a learning culture. Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate education and learning activities to meet individual learning needs, using adult learning principles and current best practice models. Sound understanding of the principles of Quality Improvement and ACQS (Aged Care Quality Standards). The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous: Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience in Manad, MedSig and similar electronic systems. Other qualifications/experience in Gerontology or related fields.
