The team includes various professionals such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, Neuropsychologists, Dietitians, Clinical Psychologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Administration and Housekeeping Staff. This is a motivated and driven team focused on achieving the most successful outcomes for clients.For more information about our service and the specialised rehabilitation services across NSW, please refer to the following websites: About the role: You will be working from the Hunter Brain Injury Service alongside the multi-disciplinary team. You will work with the team to prioritise and plan your workload and manage your time to provide service to clients. You will have an office space and enjoy connecting with other team members throughout the day.In this role you will: Provide recommendations regarding a client's capacity for work, driving, financial management, and guardianship; and advise on strategies to compensate for cognitive impairments for clients, families, and therapists. Complete neuropsychological report writing and provide verbal and written feedback on assessments to clients, their significant others, and carers. Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation programs for clients, in collaboration with team members. Negotiate and advocate for clients when working collaboratively with various service providers and agencies. Liaise with and provide advice to other team members and external agencies regarding maximizing a client’s participation and function. Prioritise workload to balance client contact and a large administrative load consisting of comprehensive reports and detailed rehabilitation plans. You will be supported by the Service Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and other Neuropsychologists who work in Brain Injury Units across NSW. Orientation will occur during the first couple of weeks with the Service Manager and Clinical Coordinator. About you: You are passionate about supporting clients to achieve their goals after sustaining a brain injury. You enjoy working with clients following traumatic brain injury and bring experience from previous clinical roles in this area. You take a holistic and empowering approach to care acknowledging various factors affecting the client during their rehabilitation and transition. You value integrity, teamwork, empathy, inclusion, and fairness. You are enthusiastic about quality improvement and your professional development. Requirements: Masters degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course with current full registration with Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement for Clinical neuropsychology. Current eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
