Join our team as a Clinical Nurse - Diabetes Education on a dynamic 6-month temporary contract and empower patients to take control of their health!The Clinical Nurse utilises advanced communication and clinical skills, along with expertise in gestational, type 1, and type 2 diabetes, to provide effective education and self-management support to individuals and groups, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics. Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs Service, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology and outreach/community-based facilities. About the role: The Clinical Nurse, Diabetes Education applies advanced communication, problem solving and evidence-based clinical skills and knowledge of gestational diabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes in the delivery of diabetes education and clinical self-management to individuals and groups in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. About you: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position. Demonstrated broad knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, expressing key actions a portfolio team could undertake to achieve and sustain these care standards. Demonstrated advanced clinical evidence-based skill and knowledge and interdisciplinary care and management of gestational, type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others, identify strategy and experiences that evidence this.
