This is for a Permanent part time, Fixed Term part time appointment at 72 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse to join the Infection Control team at Geraldton Regional Hospital – Midwest. To be successful, you will have... Advanced nursing practice with the ability to apply infection control principles in the clinical setting. Ability to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. Well-developed communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills. A commitment to continuous quality improvement and evidence-based nursing care. Practical knowledge of the use of Information Technology in nursing service delivery. Position Profile: The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse is to be responsible for Infection Control within Geraldton Regional Hospital based on the WACHS Infection Prevention program. To achieve a microbiologically safe environment for Patients and Staff through the implementation of hospital, State and National Guidelines for Infection Control and to act as a resource person in clinical risk assessment and management associated with the prevention of nosocomial infection and disease transmission.
