The Medical/Surgical Ward 1 Unit is located in Block One on the first floor of the Gladstone Hospital. The service offers a total of 31 inpatient beds which cover sub-acute, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care patients. The Medical/Surgical Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications. About the role: The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides an early leadership role within the career pathway for nursing within CQHHS and is responsible for a specific patient population and can function in more complex situations while providing support and direction to the Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN) and other non-registered nursing personnel. The CN follows defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, practice and services and workplaces. About you: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). A relevant postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, and contribute to professional nursing practice with confidence and integrity. Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
