The Theatre Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity The Clinical Nurse provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing/care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff within the operating theatres and central sterilising department. About the Team The Operating Theatre at the Mackay Base Hospital is a multi-million-dollar, state of the art Theatre complex, consisting of 7 theatres, 14 recovery bays, pre-theatre holding bay and numerous meeting rooms plus offices. The department consists of 5 main theatres and 2 procedural/endoscopy rooms, which provide morning and afternoon sessions. There are generally 4-5 theatres running simultaneously and lists include general surgical, orthopaedics, urology, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental, endoscopies/bronchoscopies and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography, plus emergencies. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
