As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports management activities, including portfolio responsibilities where applicable. Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit, you will be responsible for: Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirements Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth About you You will enjoy working in a busy and rewarding environment where you can become part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care. To be successful in this position, you will possess: Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) Demonstrated nursing experience within a surgical setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional training Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a perioperative ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposes Mater is Queensland’s largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
