What you'll be doing The Clinical Psychologist in the Substance Use in Pregnancy Service and Parenting Service (SUPPS) will provide specialist psychological services, clinical supervision, and assist to develop clinical procedures. The SUPPS team will be responsible for providing a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and delivering interventions, including sustained home visiting, to address the clinical needs of pregnant women, families and their children (until age of 2 years old). Treatment services are based on the principles of Keep Them Safe (child safety and well-being), harm minimisation and the recovery model for addiction. The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy which contributes to the care of clients within a multidisciplinary team under the leadership of the SUPPS Team Leader, with professional support provided by the Director of Allied Health. Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment you must hold current Australian work rights (I.E Australian citizen, permanent resident or NZ citizen with a current passport) Essential Criteria: Qualification: Masters of Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology Registration: Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and area of practice endorsement (or currently undertaking or eligible to undertake supervised practice for the purpose of gaining such endorsement) Selection Criteria: Well-developed skills in psychosocial and psychometric assessment. Well-developed skills in the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based psychological interventions for clients with substance use and mental health problems. Well-developed understanding of maternal and early childhood developmental issues and interventions. Well-developed skills in the development, and facilitation of group programs. An understanding of the principles and practices of health care delivery as they apply to the Drug and Alcohol field. Well-developed skills in the development and management of research projects including data analysis and reporting results of research projects to appropriate publication standards. Good negotiation and communication skills. Demonstrated sound computer skills.
