Located in the purpose built Kinghorn Cancer Centre, we are one of the largest clinical trials centres for oncology in Australia. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with interests in both clinical management of advanced cancer patients and research / clinical trials practice. The role involves: Delivering high quality patient care to clinical trial participants with advanced cancers. Responsibility for research projects, patient assessments, increasing patient recruitment and providing information to patients about trial requirements and treatments. Providing project updates, education to patients and staff. Coordination of patient study visits and maintenance of study schedules/enrolment tracking for individual trials. Participating and coordinating monitoring visits with external pharmaceutical companies and research organisations. Working effectively as part of a trials team and assist other research staff as needed. Participates in Education and Quality Improvement activities. Coordination of the collection of blood samples, processing and shipping as required (after appropriate training and assessment). Accurately collect, record and report data within trial timelines. Responding to data queries professionally, accurately and promptly. About you: The suitable applicants are expected to co-ordinate, recruit and manage data for clinical trials and research including direct patient contact and administrative duties as directed. The role involves case managing patients during their time on clinical trials and being the main point of contact for trial sponsors and other research partners. Individuals who are willing to use initiative, build on opportunities and contribute to the long-term development of the unit are encouraged to apply. Excellent interpersonal, clinical and communication skills are essential. Holds or working towards relevant tertiary qualifications in clinical research and clinical trials or equivalent relevant work experience OR a combination of relevant work experience and study. Demonstrated leadership ability working in a team and ability to use own initiative. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system. Experience with secure data management, participant trial data collection, participant organisational skills, ability to rapidly master new concepts and skills and detailed knowledge of HREC and RGO submissions. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated Clinical knowledge and experience working in Oncology, Haematology and/or Research. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
