Are you a passionate tennis coach with exceptional management skills? Do you want to live and work in a unique and picturesque location? Norfolk Island, a breathtaking Australian territory in the South Pacific, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Tennis Club Manager & Coach to lead our tennis community and elevate the club’s offerings. Position : Tennis Club Manager & CoachLocation : Norfolk Island, South PacificPart-time - Club Manager (+ all Coaching and/or Proshop Sales) About the Role: As the Club Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tennis club including cleaning, maintenance, and stocking the bar. You will be at the heart of a vibrant sporting community, arranging all the regular competitions and tournaments, and ensuring smooth and efficient management of the club's activities. You will be expected to offer coaching services for all ages and abilities, and any income derived from this will be additional to your club manager’s wage. Our facility currently boasts 6 synthetic grass courts, 5 of which have lighting, and a two-story licensed clubhouse. There is also a growing interest in pickleball, with a small group of members currently running a social pickleball afternoon once per week, with 15-20 regular players. We are in the process of investigating the development of a purpose-built 4 court pickleball facility as part of our club, and you will be expected, as Club Manager, to promote this expansion. Key Responsibilities: Club Management : Oversee the daily operations of the club, including member management, scheduling, facilities maintenance, and financial administration. Event Planning : Organise and host club tournaments, social events, and tennis camps to engage the local community and visitors. Customer Service : Build and maintain strong relationships with members, potential clients, and community stakeholders. Marketing and Promotion : Promote the tennis club’s programs and events to attract new members and guests. Facility Maintenance : Ensure that the club’s tennis courts, and surrounding facilities are well-maintained and safe for all users. Tourism : With the guidance of the committee, re-establish numerous large-scale international events to promote tourism for the island and generate increased revenue for the club. (OPTIONAL) Pro-shop : You are invited to incorporate an on-site pro-shop for restringing and equipment sales, and all income generated will be in addition to your salary. Required Skills & Qualifications: Certified tennis coach (preferably with a Tennis Australia qualification or equivalent). Proven experience in coaching tennis at various levels. Strong organisational skills and experience in club management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a small, dedicated team (the committee). Self-motivated and proactive with a passion for growing the sport and engaging the community. Previous experience in managing club operations (including memberships, scheduling, and events) is highly desirable. Ability to live and work on Norfolk Island – applicants should be prepared to embrace island life. What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package. The manager's role will include the potential for travel to Australia, NZ, and across the Pacific Region to manage/coach representative teams at events such as Pacific Nations Cup (American Samoa), Fiji Open, Pacific Games (Tahiti 2027), Pan Pacific Games, Masters Games. Remuneration: $36,500 p/a based on 18 hr week + Superannuation.
