About the Role Join AGL as a Collections Officer - Commercial , where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing high-value debt collections across AGL’s Commercial portfolio, including Small Market, C&I, and Multisites. This position is all about balancing risk with revenue, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and minimizing bad debt while supporting AGL’s financial health. As part of the Commercial Collections team, you will take ownership of complex debt portfolios, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve disputes, analyze risks, and achieve sustainable outcomes for both AGL and its customers. What you will be doing: Take ownership of the debt position within your assigned customer portfolio, ensuring proactive and effective management. Make informed commercial decisions, weighing risk versus revenue to maximize returns. Analyze and assess risks across the portfolio, providing sound recommendations for resolution strategies. Engage with key stakeholders to resolve disputes, drive outcomes, and maintain accountability. Deliver exceptional customer service, balancing financial objectives with maintaining positive relationships. Conduct complex reconciliations, including reviewing account histories and proposing tailored approaches to resolve customer issues. Manage cash lock-up disputes proactively and provide timely resolutions. Utilize robust reporting tools to track performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement. What we would like to see you bring: Demonstrated assertiveness and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate challenging situations effectively. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, paired with strong interpersonal abilities. High attention to detail and excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently. Proven record of strong stakeholder management. Proven ability to resolve conflicts and achieve positive outcomes in a collaborative manner. Goal-oriented mindset, thriving in an environment where meeting and exceeding targets is the norm. Strong analytical and risk assessment skills, enabling strategic decision-making. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with SAP experience preferred. Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
