The position plays a vital role in the success of the Army Aviation Training Centre in supporting its people, the Commandant and Army Aviation capability. Situated within Swartz Barracks, Oakey, the Combat Training System Engineer will operate within an integrated Defence team environment, directly supporting Army Aviation Training Centre’s Training System Integration Section functions.As the Combat Training System Engineer, the role involves performing complex training system analysis and providing systems engineering advice under broad direction. The role is accountable for exercising assigned authorities, governance, and compliance delegations. The incumbent will apply training system engineering knowledge to identify risks and uncertainties in planning, decision-making, and priority-setting.They will demonstrate training systems engineering expertise, providing advice and recommendations on advancements to Army Aviation capabilities. The individual will: Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participating in teamwork and supporting professional development. Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Assess technical and design packages, evaluating whether delivered training system materiel meets capability requirements, legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks. Monitor safety aspects of Defence materiel systems and incorporate them into training system engineering activities. Manage workflows, resources, and prepare work area and team plans with measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
