Commercial Business Partner - Reporting and Grants Position Details Part-Time (0.6) Ongoing Position Annual Salary $115,000 + Super Onsite amenities include secure parking, café, restaurant, gym facility, hair salon, and produce shop. About the Role: The Finance and Commercial Department is responsible for the efficient management of financial activities in line with the strategic direction of Melbourne Polytechnic. As the Commercial Business Partner – Reporting and Grants, you will develop and manage financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions, focusing on continuous improvement and automation. Duties: Assist in Business Planning and Budget Processes: Develop and coordinate the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Support the manager during the budget process. Prepare financial models and scenario analyses. Assist in presenting the consolidated business plan to the Board. Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures. Monthly Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting: Track and report monthly financial performance of grants. Perform monthly reconciliation of grants. Interpret financial data for non-financial stakeholders. Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports. Ensure timely completion of government-required financial reports. Forecasting and Cash Flow Management: Review performance against budget targets. Strategic Planning and Decision Support: Partner with stakeholders to develop business cases for grant proposals. Provide financial insights and advice. Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Continuous Improvement and Change Management: Review and improve planning, budgeting, and reporting processes. Assist in developing automated dashboards and reports. Grants Management: Coordinate management of all grants received. Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions. Build relationships with stakeholders for grant deliverables. Minimum Requirements: A degree qualification in business or accounting. CA/CPA qualified or working towards accreditation. Proven experience in data analytics/reporting/research roles. Current Working with Children Check (Employee) – mandatory. Valid National Police Check – mandatory.
