Commercial Credit Officer ColCap is a leading and privately owned non-bank lender operating in the Australian market. ColCap employs over 260 staff located in Australia, the Philippines, and Malaysia with its Head Office in Sydney. Job Summary The Commercial Credit Officer is responsible for the assessment of credit applications in accordance with their Delegated Lending Authority and Company Credit Policies. They will interact with a number of other Credit Officers who have Delegated Lending Authorities, the Manila Point of Contact for the Credit Team that they lead as well as interacting professionally with other departments including Treasury, Settlements, Collections, Finance, etc., to ensure that customer service standards and SLA’s are met or exceeded by themselves and their team members. Key tasks and responsibilities Assessment of commercial credit applications in accordance with SLA’s. Ensuring loans are processed to meet contract deadlines. Liaise with staff, brokers, mortgage managers, mortgage originators, agencies, other third-party suppliers & applicants from acceptance through to settlement. Effective communication of credit decisions to all parties and ensure that reasons for credit requirements and decisions are transparent and understood. Assist other processors, Underwriters, and Credit department as needed. Maintain a focus on enhancing customer service skills and knowledge. Have a clear and detailed understanding of Small Business Lending; strong understanding of Financial Statements and Cashflow Analysis. Be commercially astute and able to assess credit situations that do not meet stipulated criteria in policy with recommendations to DLA Holders. Follow up loan enquiries & aid when required throughout the application process, ensuring a high degree of customer service is provided to our community partners. Evaluate, assess & process loan applications in accordance with our agreed customer SLA. Demonstrate Company Values. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to also work unsupervised. Be a referral point for less experienced credit officers. Good attention to detail. Desired Attributes Experience in working for a Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI). The candidate must be robust and capable of dealing within an entrepreneurial and fast-growing business. 3+ years in a Credit Assessment role. Current or previous holder of Delegated Lending Authority for mortgage loans. Holder of Certificate IV in Credit Management or Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking. Understanding of mortgage market and financial services industry. SMSF & Small Business Lending Experience. Self-Employed Income Assessment. Complex Trust Structures Desirable.
