The Role: The Commercial Estimator role focuses on increasing commercial sales and brand awareness, acquiring new customers, and coordinating customer services to achieve profitability aligned with company goals. Key responsibilities include: Tender Management Consistently look to source tenders through various avenues open to the industry. Assess the type of tender, client, and closing date to determine prioritisation. Review and assess tenders to ensure all documents are received and correct. Review tender documents to assess scope, risks, and complexity, providing feedback to the Commercial Manager. Conduct due diligence with Mechanical Contractors and Consulting Engineers for tender understanding and risk assessment. Perform take-offs and prepare quantities accurately and timely. Coordinate costing and pricing for tenders with other departments, ensuring profitability guidelines are maintained. Compile proposals/quotations, tender schedules, programs, and other required items. Liaise with clients to monitor the progress of tenders. Compile relevant tender information into the Quotation Register. Make tender amendments based on client feedback. Negotiate with clients to win tenders. Other Administration & Project Management Review order details relevant to the company’s ability to deliver. Ensure accurate and timely information is communicated to relevant divisions. Coordinate project documentation and schedules from the client once the tender is successful. Project manage from order point to successful practical completion, maintaining customer satisfaction. Identify and address project variations on construction drawings differing from tender drawings. Liaise with other functional areas to ensure smooth order flow and high customer service standards. Provide support for Management, Accounting, Administration, Manufacturing, and Sales functions. What You Bring: Technical or tertiary qualifications preferred, with work experience in the air-conditioning industry. Design experience is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
