About the Opportunity Reporting directly to the Managing Director Tyree Group, an exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Senior Management Team and lead the overall management of contracts with our major clients and suppliers. The position will be based in New South Wales out of either our Mittagong Head Office or our Narellan operations. Key Responsibilities Ensuring contract administrators and all relevant employees understand and comply with commercial requirements of customer contracts Reviewing draft customer contracts as part of the tender process in support of the Sales and Engineering teams. Assisting in the preparation of tenders for major bids Reviewing potential customer contracts prior to acceptance and negotiate appropriate commercial outcomes considering risks, reward and Tyree capability Managing and further developing Tyree’s Contracting guidelines Overseeing the proactive management of commercial issues including payment claims, notices, contract disputes, and client/supplier relationships Assisting contract administrators, managers and engineers as needed in commercial matters including identifying emerging risks, variation opportunities and payment claim preparation. Assisting the Finance team in collection processes for overdue accounts receivable and payment claims. Managing and maintaining Tyree’s standard terms of sale and purchase. Assisting the Purchasing team in negotiating and implementing subcontracts for major spend categories and assist in any non-performance or commercial disputes with suppliers. Qualifications for success At least 7 years in a commercial and contract administration role, on either the supply or purchasing side of contracts within a construction, manufacturing or services business or be a highly experienced A demonstrated ability to effectively work within small teams, be a strategic thinker and able to mentor and lead by example. A Bachelor's Degree, or a Masters or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines or demonstrated and extensive practical contracts experience and proven commercial ability. Strong verbal and written English skills A valid visa to work in Australia, or have permanent residency, or be an Australian or New Zealand citizen.
