The Communications Officer will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing communication strategies to promote the Centres of Excellence Initiative. This role is crucial in ensuring coherent, consistent, and effective internal and external communication across TAFE Queensland. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior management and key figures within a geographically diverse team, to identify communication needs for the TAFE Queensland Centres of Excellence to position TAFEs as the foundation for innovation across the VET sector through nationally consistent, world-class teaching and learning. This position reports to the Communication and Media Manager. This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 22 December 2028 unless otherwise determined. The position location is negotiable at any TAFE Queensland Campus; however, some travel will be required across other TAFE Queensland campuses. Key Responsibilities Manage the creation and implementation of communication strategies for TAFE Queensland to promote the Centres of Excellence Initiative. Develop and oversee comprehensive Communications Plans (internal and external) for the Centres of Excellence Initiative. Create engaging, high-quality content for various platforms (including but not limited to: email, website, and social media) and audiences, adhering to TAFE Queensland’s brand standards, tone, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with various groups including communication officers, campaign officers, designers, and digital marketers to develop innovative materials. Identify communication needs and outline objectives, requirements, and milestones. Support project stakeholders to ensure that change management and communication materials are delivered consistently and timely. Coordinate and maintain communication outputs across key internal channels. Review and enhance project information and content creation as required. How you will be assessed The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and executing comprehensive communication plans. Ability to identify communication needs and deliver high-quality, engaging content for multiple platforms. Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement in communication practices and outputs. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task and manage competing workloads and deadlines. Highly Desirable Requirements Degree-level qualification in strategic communications, public relations, internal communication, or journalism is not mandatory but will be highly regarded.
