Role: Communications & Events Officer Role type: up to 5 Months (24/2/2025 till 25/7/2025) Salary: DCS clerk grade 7/8, annual base salary starting at $110,266 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Location: Sydney or Bathurst About Us: The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is transforming the way NSW Government agencies interact with customers. About the Role: Cyber Security NSW is looking for an organised and collaborative Communications & Events Officer who has experience in writing targeted communications for a range of audiences. You will need to be able to write quickly, have strong attention to detail and be capable of planning and running engaging events. Key Accountabilities: Write and sub-edit stakeholder-focused communications to facilitate effective outcomes of organisational strategies and build stakeholder engagement. Contribute to the development and delivery of accurate and polished briefs ahead of events, video presentations and communications to internal and external stakeholders across multiple channels to ensure key messages reach and engage the intended audience. Plan, coordinate and deliver events in-person, online or in a combined format to a variety of stakeholders to ensure delivery of organisational objectives. Collaborate across teams so that executive priorities are understood and embedded, and to ensure that the Executive receives seamless and integrated communications and engagement support and advice. Contribute to the planning and design of communications and engagement strategies to enable effective execution across multiple channels and evaluation of strategies to support the business to successfully deliver all key milestones and outcomes. Maintain awareness of organisation-wide priorities, issues/crises, industry best practice, new technologies and opportunities to make recommendations to inform continuous improvement and decision making. About You: To be successful in the role you will: Be reliable, flexible and hardworking, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities at once. Have solid experience writing, sub-editing and proofreading communications for a variety of audiences. Know how to maintain robust quality control procedures to produce error-free copy. Possess excellent organisational and communication skills. Proactively manage own workload and tasks. Be able to engage with both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders. Be an Australian Citizen including the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance and undergo a police check.
