The role We are seeking a dynamic Communications Specialist to join our Business Transformation Program (BTP) at MidCoast Council. In this role, you will deliver clear, engaging, and informative communications across the organization, supporting interaction, adoption, and building positive responses to new projects. You’ll play a key role in promoting the Business Transformation Program’s initiatives and ensuring our messaging resonates with staff at all levels. You will have proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholder groups, allowing you to understand the nuances of each project and deliver tailored visual and written communications to targeted user groups. You will work across a variety of corporate communication channels, including email campaigns, internal newsletters, intranet updates, staff bulletins, all-staff information sessions, leadership Q&A forums, and management briefings. Your skills in evaluating communication effectiveness will help you monitor audience engagement, while your ability to manage time efficiently will keep messages consistent, well-planned, and timely. As this role supports the delivery of new initiatives, it’s essential that you can create communications that not only inform but encourage positive engagement during times of change. Your messaging will be critical in driving adoption and fostering an open, supportive environment as new processes and systems are introduced across the organisation. With the Business Transformation Program well underway, we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. What you'll bring Tertiary qualifications in communications (or similar) and/or substantial experience in communications. Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, tailoring communications to suit various audiences and project needs. Experience managing diverse communication channels, including email, newsletters, intranet, and staff forums, ensuring messages are cohesive and timely. Demonstrated ability to ensure all communications comply with governance and communications processes and are aligned with the program’s communications plan. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering clear, engaging communications that drive positive engagement and support organizational change. What we offer? Salary: Commencing salary circa $83,460 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience). Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree.
