Job Description

DVConnect is now seeking a Communications and Fundraising Specialist to join our team! $45.72 per hour plus super. NFP salary packaging available. What to expect in your new role The primary responsibility of the Communications and Fundraising Specialist is to ensure high-quality internal and external communications that enhance DVConnect’s brand awareness, encourage support, and drive fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director of Social Impact and Advocacy, the role involves planning, managing, and reporting on communication and fundraising activities, developing strategies, and managing collateral and publications. Key responsibilities include: Proactive and reactive media, social media, marketing, fundraising, and events. Developing communication, marketing, and fundraising strategies. Creating content, including basic graphic design. Planning and leading external events with team support. Managing collateral and publications. Supporting advocacy and education initiatives in a trauma-aware, healing-informed manner. Experience required for the role Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Stakeholder management skills and ability to build constructive and effective relationships with donors and suppliers. Excellent project management, event management and organisational skills. Social media content creation and management skills. Proactive and reactive media coordination. Self-directed to achieve individual, team and organisational goals. Team player who is energetic, positive, friendly and has a flexible approach. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Understanding of domestic and family violence issues. High level of empathy and cultural awareness when engaging with diverse groups. Additional requirements Driver’s licence and ability to travel locally when required. Willingness to work on-site (Brisbane City, QLD). Right to work in Australia with no restrictions. Complete a national police check prior to commencing employment. Flexibility with working hours to meet operational needs. Desirable but not mandatory Working for a NFP or non-government organisation. Tertiary or other qualifications in Communications/Marketing/PR or similar area. Assisting and/or writing grant applications. What’s in it for you?
