Neerim District Community Enterprise Neerim South, Victoria, Australia 4 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Passionate about supporting rural communities The Neerim District Community Enterprise (NDCE) is a trading name for Neerim District Financial Services Ltd, which operates the Community Bank Neerim District, as a franchisee from the Bendigo Bank on behalf of the Neerim Community. As a Community Enterprise, it is dedicated to promoting a thriving Neerim District and assisting and supporting the organisations that serve the community. As a part of this mission, it contributes almost all of its profits, in cash and kind, to support community activities that serve the residents of the district. Reporting to: Chair of the Neerim District Community Enterprise (NDCE) board Salary: An attractive salary and benefits package is available. Work Time: Work hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate, although evening and weekend work will occasionally be required. Community Engagement Manager Reporting to the Chair of Neerim District Community Enterprise (NDCE) board, the Community Engagement Manager role is critical to the delivery of NDCE’s vision of a flourishing, healthy and united Neerim District community. The role is focused on building deep engagement and relationships with community groups, local and state governments, local businesses and the tourism industry. In addition to supporting applications for funding, the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in daily support for community groups, for example helping with events, activities, seeking additional grants. The role also involves supporting the marketing and social media activities for the Community Bank Neerim District. Responsibilities and Duties 1. Community Engagement Community Organisation Support – be a proactive partner in supporting the community organisations in the district; meeting, collaborating and supporting their work. Key Relationships: establish relationships/network with key stakeholders (funding partners) in the community e.g. council, schools, traders and local businesses. Community Grants: liaise with community groups seeking sponsorship/grants, both from the Community Enterprise and from other sources. Assist with applications and advise applicants of procedures, protocols and outcomes. Community events: coordinate board/branch attendance at community events. Community Bank Point of difference: ensure the point of difference and value proposition of the Community Bank is communicated and understood throughout the community. Act as a Spokesperson: formally represent the organisation as required. Report: provide a monthly engagement report to the board. 2. Marketing Media: identify opportunities for writing articles for newspapers, magazines, newsletters, media releases, compilation of newsletters, posters and advertisements. Maintain regular contact with local media representatives. Event co-ordination: sponsorship signage, promotional items, running sheets, presentation nights. Social media: administer social media presence for NDCE and Community Bank Neerim District and provide updates at board meetings, monitor comments, likes and shares of posts. Provide a monthly social media schedule. Assist with promotion: support community grants program, scholarship program, young achiever award and other branch activities/promotions. Shareholder relationships: identify initiatives aimed at maintaining a viable, engaged and supportive shareholder base. Newsletter: prepare and distribute a monthly printed bank branch newsletter. Prepare and distribute a quarterly online newsletter. Website: update and maintain the NDCE website (Squarespace). Liaise with Bendigo Bank Marketing team to provide updates on the Community Bank Neerim District page on the Bendigo Bank website. Strategic Marketing Plan: work with Board and Branch Manager to update the strategic marketing plan. Qualifications Proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships with community organisations. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, set workloads, follow through and meet deadlines. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience adjusting and adhering to marketing plans. Familiar with Meta Business Suite and creating and following social media schedules. Tertiary qualification in a relevant subject is desirable. Experience in the community not-for-profit sector. Knowledge of Squarespace, WordPress or similar. Experience using SmartyGrants to manage grant applications. Relationship building in the community. Able to work independently. Outstanding professional conduct. Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality, discretion and judgement. Honesty and integrity. Clear and open communication.
