Job Description

A position currently exists at Toowoomba North State School for a Community Liaison Officer. This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for the duration of Semester 1, 2025, unless otherwise determined. The role will be responsible for developing links between home and school related issues and encouraging general interest and participation in school activities and programs. We are seeking an excellent communicator who is able to plan and deliver public presentations and inform and educate parents and community members about educational needs and policies. About The Role The successful applicant will be instrumental in assisting parents with student attendance, and transition from kindy to school and transition from primary to high school. Administrative tasks including clerical duties related to writing and responding to correspondence will also be a part of the role, including contributing to applications made for funding. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Develop and implement strategies for effective links between home and school related issues and to encourage greater interest and participation in school activities and programs. Facilitate opportunity for raising parental concerns and advocate equity of service provision. Promote liaison activities to provide information to parents, the school and its community, and facilitate community development activities to improve relations between the school and its community. Act as the contact for parents/carers and the indigenous community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and its indigenous community.
