APOC addresses unique challenges faced by professionals of colour in Corporate Australia and entrepreneurship by challenging the status quo through discussions and debates, raising awareness about barriers to growth such as unconscious bias and discrimination. We're seeking dedicated volunteers (multiple roles) to join our team for 2-3 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: WordPress Support Regularly update WordPress core, themes, and plugins to ensure site security and performance Monitor the website for issues (e.g., downtime, broken links) and resolve them promptly Perform routine backups and ensure data protection measures are in place Assist in implementing minor design changes or updates as requested Manage and respond to user comments and inquiries through the website Keep the website content current by updating blog posts, images, and other media Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement and optimization Required Skills and Qualifications: Familiarity with WordPress platform, including themes and plugins Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and PHP for minor code adjustments Experience with website optimization techniques for speed and performance Knowledge of SEO best practices to improve site visibility Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common WordPress issues Excellent communication skills for interacting with the team and users Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision * Prior experience in website maintenance or support is a plus. Marketing Volunteer: We are looking for a passionate Marketing Volunteer who can support our marketing efforts through content creation, email marketing, and digital outreach to help amplify APOC and engage our audience effectively. Key Responsibilities: Experience with Canva: Create visually appealing graphics for social media, events, and marketing materials. Basic WordPress Experience: Update website content and manage blog posts to keep the site current and user-friendly. Experience with Ticketing Systems: Set up and manage events using platforms like Humanitix, handling registrations and attendee support. Email Marketing: Create and manage email campaigns and newsletters to engage and inform audiences using Mailchimp. Content Creation: Develop engaging content for social media, blogs, and email campaigns aligned with marketing goals. Event Coordinator: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to help deliver a successful and impactful event. This role involves coordinating key logistics, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring a seamless event experience for attendees. Key Responsibilities: Identify and secure panellists and keynote speakers. Confirm the participation of all speakers, panellists, and the MC. Facilitate communication between speakers and the MC to ensure smooth event flow. Confirm the event venue, AV setup, and recording arrangements for speeches and panel discussions. Oversee catering, including food, beverages, service staff, and waitstaff coordination. Ensure all costs and vendor details are finalized. Develop and finalize the event theme. Coordinate social media posts to promote the event. Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with check-in. Facilitate networking opportunities by introducing guests to each other. Guide attendees to their designated seating and event spaces. Provide general event support to ensure smooth operations throughout the event. Skills & Experience: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Experience in event planning and coordination. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
