The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate or junior Senior Associate to join our busy Sydney competition and disputes practice. You will be working within an existing team with a collegiate atmosphere and a supportive environment, working closely with senior practitioners. You will be supervised by highly experienced practitioners across a broad spectrum of both front-end and back-end competition and consumer matters, with the opportunity for day-to-day carriage of matters, and career development. We provide a broad scope of legal services across a range of industries however, our key focus areas are all aspects of competition and consumer law, including competition advice, competition litigation (with a focus on cartel litigation), marketing and advertising clearance work, consumer law litigation, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, general commercial litigation, and class actions. We act for a number of large global and domestic clients. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for candidates with between 5 and 8 years PQE who have demonstrable experience, including in litigation. Candidates should have the following abilities: Deliver high-quality legal services commensurate with your level of experience; Maintain and foster existing client relationships; Support Partners / Special Counsel and other practice group members to achieve group goals involving delivery of legal services; Participate in professional development activities when required; Litigation experience including: briefing counsel, drafting Court Documents including pleadings, affidavits, applications, and corresponding with opposing counsel, Courts and Tribunals; Be able to clearly articulate technical arguments; and Research complex legal matters and provide concise and accurate summaries and advice to senior practitioners and clients. You will also: Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; Be able to manage workflow and deadlines with minimum supervision in a busy but supportive practice; Be a team player who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and assist as required by the team during periods of peak workflow; Be able to receive and assimilate feedback from senior practice members; Add to a positive office culture; Seek assistance and guidance in areas of uncertainty.
