Sojitz owns and operates two assets within the Southern Bowen Basin; Gregory Crinum Mine Complex and Meteor Downs South Mine. About the Role The Mines Rescue and Emergency Services Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all emergency response procedures and systems at a mine site adhere to relevant safety regulations, primarily focusing on the readiness and competency of the mine rescue team and overall emergency preparedness, by conducting regular audits, training checks, and coordinating compliance activities with relevant legislation and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Compliance Oversight: Monitoring and auditing mine rescue team training, equipment maintenance, and emergency response procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Training Management: Organizing and delivering regular training sessions for mine rescue teams, including drills and simulations to maintain proficiency in emergency response procedures. Incident Response: Coordinating with the mine site leadership during emergency situations, ensuring effective communication and deployment of the mine rescue team. Equipment Management: Overseeing the inspection, maintenance, and proper functioning of all emergency response equipment, including breathing apparatus, rescue gear, and communication systems. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of training activities, compliance audits, incident reports, and any necessary documentation related to emergency response. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with mine management, safety officers, and other relevant departments to ensure a coordinated approach to emergency preparedness. About You The successful candidates will have the following: Extensive knowledge of mining safety regulations and emergency response protocols. Certified Mine Rescue qualifications and experience. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and coordinate emergency responses. Ability to conduct thorough audits and assessments to identify compliance issues.
