TBWA Melbourne is seeking a talented and innovative Connections Strategy Director to bring disruptive ideas into interesting impactful spaces and places. This is a pivotal role that will shape the future of our agency and our clients' brands. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can translate advertising, comms & media innovation, cultural trends and digital/social behaviours into actionable insights and groundbreaking creative solutions. If you are a strategist currently working mostly on digital and socially led campaigns and consider stretching into brand strategy, this job is for you. THE TASK AT HAND Key Responsibilities: Digital and Social Comms Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the evolving social and digital comms and media landscape. This includes opportunities for brands in social media, Meta and Google platforms, TikTok, AI, gaming etc. Connections Strategy Expertise: Develop connection/comms plans, ecosystems, briefs, and message matrices for creative teams grounded in an understanding of traditional and non-traditional media channels and behaviours. Social & Content Strategy: Together with the social team develop social strategies and frameworks. Brand Strategy Development: Lead the development of disruptive brand and campaign strategies to drive business growth and cultural impact. Implement and measure your strategies against measurement plans and client objectives. Creative Partnership: Build strong relationships with creative teams, be their trusted advisor and partner to bring ideas into the most interesting spaces and places. Cultural Insights: Stay ahead of cultural trends and consumer behaviours, identifying opportunities to create culturally relevant and impactful campaigns. Client Partnerships: Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and sparring partner. Team Leadership: Mentor and inspire a small team of talented strategists and social media specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry discussions and publications, positioning TBWA as a leader in innovation and creativity. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO TBWA Deep digital and social comms knowledge: Deep understanding of social media, content marketing, and digital advertising. Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop interesting, unexpected, yet actionable strategies. Cultural Fluency: Keen awareness of current cultural trends and their impact on consumer behaviour. Creative Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with creative teams to develop innovative and disruptive campaigns. Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Problem-Solving: A creative and analytical approach to problem-solving. Client Management: Strong relationship-building and client management skills. ABOUT YOU: A nice person with a love for great ideas and advertising. 7+ years’ experience in strategy role, within creative agency, social or digital agency. You are immersed in tech and tech innovation. You are culturally curious with an informed worldview and passion for uncovering what influences people’s behaviours and values. Persuasive communication skills when presenting findings to colleagues, management, and clients. Experience managing multiple projects at the same time. Ability to distil information into compelling and insightful visual and verbal presentation and briefs, pushing the output of our agency forward.
